Thermos Cup Campaign-2

Every year, millions of tons of plastic waste are generated worldwide, causing environmental issues such as pollution, resource depletion, and climate change. This campaign offers an opportunity to raise awareness, mobilize communities, and take action to address this critical issue. The use of plastic waste leads to resource depletion, single-use plastic pollution, waste management challenges, and environmental impacts. Starting on November 22, 2024, this campaign will provide an opportunity to reduce and reuse plastic waste, promote responsible recycling, encourage the use of eco-friendly products, increase consumer awareness, and foster sustainable practices. Together, we can make a significant difference in reducing plastic waste and moving towards a more sustainable and eco-friendly future for the planet.

In this context, Hacettepe University plans to contribute to environmental awareness among campus residents by rewarding the first 400 students (associate and/or undergraduate) who bring 15 kg of plastic waste (such as PET bottles, emptied or cleaned detergent bottles, yogurt and milk containers, packaging waste, etc.) with a thermos cup. Additionally, students who receive a thermos cup in exchange for their packaging waste will be provided with beverage discounts at specific locations within the Sıhhiye and Beytepe Campuses.
