Thermos Cup Campaign-3

Every year, millions of tons of plastic waste are generated worldwide, leading to environmental issues such as pollution, resource depletion, and climate change. This campaign provides an opportunity to raise awareness, mobilize communities, and take action on this critical issue. The use of plastic waste results in resource depletion, single-use plastic pollution, waste management challenges, and environmental impacts.

Starting from March 17, 2025, this campaign will offer opportunities to reduce and reuse plastic waste, promote responsible recycling, support the use of eco-friendly products, enhance consumer awareness, and encourage sustainable practices. Together, we can make a significant difference in reducing plastic waste and moving towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future.

In this context, as Hacettepe University, we aim to contribute to environmental awareness among campus residents. It is planned to gift a thermal mug to associate and undergraduate students who bring 10 kg of plastic waste (such as PET bottles, emptied or cleaned detergent containers, yogurt and milk cartons, packaging waste, etc.). Additionally, students who receive a thermal mug in exchange for their plastic waste will be eligible for beverage discounts at designated locations within the Sıhhiye and Beytepe campuses that sell drinks.
